Description
Description
VP X85 is a race-grade ethanol fuel blended to a fixed specification every batch: 85% ethanol and 15% premium hydrocarbons. Unlike pump E85, which varies from 51% to 83% ethanol depending on season and region, X85 delivers the same composition drum to drum. That consistency is what makes it tunable for competition use.
X85 has a 108 Research Octane Number, 95.2 MON, and 30.03% oxygen content, with a stoichiometric air/fuel ratio of 9.81. It is unleaded and suited for drag racing, circle track, road racing, and rally applications on E85-compatible fuel systems.

Frequently asked questions:
What is VP X85 race fuel? VP X85 is a race-formulated ethanol fuel blended to a fixed specification of 85% ethanol and 15% premium hydrocarbons every batch. It has a 108 Research Octane Number, 95.2 MON, and 30.03% oxygen content. Unlike pump E85, X85 is consistent drum to drum, making it tunable for drag racing, circle track, road racing, and rally use.
Is VP X85 the same as pump E85? No. Pump E85 varies from 51% to 83% ethanol by season and region, making it unreliable to tune around. X85 is blended to a fixed 85% ethanol specification every batch, giving tuners a consistent, repeatable baseline for competition engines.
What is the difference between VP X85 and VP C85? Both are fixed-spec E85 race fuels, but they differ in formulation. C85 has a higher RON (106) and a lower stoichiometric A/F ratio (9.20), making it better suited for maximum-power drag and circle track applications. X85 has a RON of 108 and an A/F ratio of 9.81, which suits a wider range of applications including road racing and rally where drivability and fuel range also matter.
What is the difference between VP X85 and VP X85L? X85L is a leaded version of the X85 formula, designed for classes where leaded fuel is permitted and additional detonation protection is required. X85 is unleaded. If your rulebook or application requires a leaded ethanol fuel, use X85L.
Does VP X85 require hazmat shipping? Yes. X85 is a flammable liquid subject to hazmat regulations. A surcharge will be added at checkout and reflected in your shipping cost.
