Description
Description
VP Racing C14 is a 116-octane, leaded, non-oxygenated race fuel formulated for high-RPM engines with ultra-high compression ratios above 14:1. It is the designated spec fuel for NMRA and MMCA competition and has been a dominant choice in NHRA Championship racing for decades.
C14 delivers the detonation resistance required by demanding high-compression race engines while providing consistent fuel chemistry for repeatable tuning. Its non-oxygenated formulation helps racers maintain a stable air-fuel calibration without the additional tuning changes associated with oxygenated fuels.
With a 114 Motor Octane Number, 118 Research Octane Number, and 116 (R+M)/2 octane rating, C14 is built for serious naturally aspirated racing combinations that operate at high RPM and require more octane than C12 can provide.
C14 is yellow for easy identification in the shop, trailer, and pits. It is available in 5-gallon pails and 54-gallon drums.

Frequently asked questions
What is VP C14 race fuel?
VP C14 is a 116-octane, leaded, non-oxygenated race fuel designed for high-RPM engines with ultra-high compression ratios above 14:1. It is a spec fuel for NMRA and MMCA racing and has a long history in NHRA Championship competition.
What compression ratio is C14 designed for?
C14 is recommended for high-RPM engines with compression ratios above 14:1. Always select race fuel based on your complete engine combination, including compression ratio, RPM range, ignition timing, cylinder head design, and induction system.
Is VP C14 oxygenated?
No. VP C14 contains 0 percent oxygen. Its non-oxygenated chemistry provides consistent combustion characteristics and helps simplify tuning compared with oxygenated race fuels.
Is VP C14 leaded?
Yes. C14 is a leaded race fuel. Confirm that leaded fuel is compatible with your engine, fuel system, oxygen sensors, catalytic converter, and racing-class rules before use.
What is the octane rating of VP C14?
VP C14 has a 116 (R+M)/2 octane rating, with a 114 MON and 118 RON.
What is the difference between VP C12 and C14?
C12 is a 112-octane leaded, non-oxygenated fuel recommended for naturally aspirated engines up to 15:1 compression. C14 provides 116 octane and is formulated specifically for high-RPM, ultra-high-compression engines above 14:1. Choose the fuel that matches your engine builder's recommendations and tuning requirements.
Why is VP C14 yellow?
The yellow color is VP Racing's dye designation for C14. It helps racers identify the fuel quickly and distinguish it from other VP formulations. The dye does not affect fuel performance.
Is C14 a street-legal fuel?
C14 is a leaded racing fuel intended for off-road and competition use where permitted. Follow all applicable laws, emissions requirements, and racing-series regulations.
