The COBB SF Intake with Airbox is the ultimate intake solution for the 2008+ Subaru WRX and STI, delivering the airflow benefits of both a short ram intake and a cold air intake without the drawbacks of either. This system is engineered with precision to improve performance while maintaining safe and consistent engine management.

At its core, the SF Intake uses a custom conical cloth air filter connected to a CFD-designed velocity stack and a unique airflow straightener grid. These elements smooth incoming airflow as it passes across the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, ensuring precise readings and eliminating the turbulence-related “dead spots” that plague other aftermarket intakes.

Unlike metal intake systems that retain under-hood heat, the COBB SF Intake is built from a lightweight, one-piece high-temperature plastic composite. This design saves weight, improves heat rejection, and keeps intake air temperatures cooler for more consistent performance.

The integrated SF Airbox further enhances the system by shielding the filter from hot engine bay air while channeling fresh cold air from the factory front grill inlet. The enclosed design not only boosts power and consistency but also prevents water ingestion, a common issue with traditional in-fender cold air intakes.
