Description
The Radium Engineering Coolant Expansion Tank - Remote Location for 2006-2011 Lotus Elise/Exige 2ZZ-GE relocates the coolant header tank to the firewall, making it a strong option for modified Lotus applications where the factory expansion-tank location is no longer practical. This is especially useful with engine-bay changes such as turbocharger systems, engine swaps, or other custom configurations that create clearance issues around the original tank location.
The tank is CNC-machined from 6061 billet aluminum and uses a two-piece construction with an internal swirl chamber. Hot coolant enters the chamber tangentially, creating a vortex that helps separate trapped air from the coolant before it returns to the system. This helps improve bleeding and coolant circulation in performance cooling systems.
Radium includes a dedicated firewall mounting bracket, 6AN adapters, sight-tube fittings, pressure-bleed nipple, and mounting hardware. The tank accepts a standard 32mm Type-A pressure cap, allowing the pressure rating to be selected separately for the application. Radium's installation instructions specifically address mounting on 2006-2011 Elise/Exige models.
