Take your Ford Mustang 2.3L EcoBoost to the next level with the Precision Turbonetics NX2 Bolt-On Turbo Upgrade. Designed specifically as a direct drop-in replacement for the factory turbocharger, the NX2 delivers substantially increased airflow and power potential without requiring adapters, fabrication, or modifications to the vehicle.
The factory 2.3L EcoBoost turbo uses a unique reverse-rotation configuration that can limit conventional turbo upgrade options. Precision Turbonetics engineered the NX2 around this platform, providing a high-performance stock-location turbo that bolts directly into place while maintaining the factory-style installation layout.
At the heart of the NX2 is an 11-full-blade billet compressor wheel with a 52mm inducer and a maximum airflow rating of 52 lb/min. Combined with the larger, high-efficiency turbo components, the NX2 is capable of supporting 500+ HP when paired with the appropriate supporting modifications, fueling, and custom ECU calibration.
The divided twin-scroll configuration is designed to provide quick spool and strong low-RPM response while allowing the turbo to continue flowing efficiently at higher engine speeds. A ported shroud compressor housing further expands the compressor map, helping balance low-RPM response with increased top-end performance.
The NX2 uses a high-efficiency Inconel turbine wheel housed in an investment-cast HK30 stainless steel turbine housing. The HK30 material is designed to withstand the extreme temperatures associated with high-performance turbocharged applications, making the NX2 well suited for both aggressive street driving and track use.
A dual ceramic ball-bearing center section improves throttle response while reducing friction and providing excellent durability under demanding operating conditions. The turbo is equipped with Precision's high-pressure 18 PSI wastegate actuator, with an optional Turbosmart wastegate actuator available for applications requiring additional actuator control.
Installation is designed to be straightforward. The NX2 uses direct drop-in fitment and installs without adapters or fabrication. The package includes new gaskets and silicone couplers, including a 3-inch coupler compatible with popular stock and aftermarket intake systems.
The Precision Turbonetics NX2 is also 50-state legal and carries CARB Executive Order D-99-9, making it an excellent option for enthusiasts looking for a high-performance turbo upgrade with emissions-compliant credentials.
