Description
During normal crankcase ventilation, oil vapor is pulled back through the intake tract along with the PCV system's airflow. Over time, this vapor accumulates in the intake tube and manifold runners as sludge and can dilute fuel enough to lower its effective octane rating a problem that's amplified on turbocharged engines like the 2.3L EcoBoost, where crankcase pressures run higher than on naturally aspirated engines.
The J&L Driver Side Oil Separator 3.0 is engineered to intercept that oil before it becomes a problem. Machined from solid billet aluminum, the catch can uses a multi-stage filtration system with a fine mesh trap to separate oil from the PCV vapor, holding up to 3 ounces of collected fluid plenty of capacity for a 2,000-3,000 mile service interval. A knurled tank base lets you remove the canister by hand for quick draining and cleaning, sealed with a durable O-ring to prevent leaks.
Designed specifically for the 2020-2024 Ford Explorer 2.3L EcoBoost, this kit is a direct-fit, plug-and-play installation that includes the mounting bracket, hardware, and PCV hoses needed for the job, with no cutting, splicing, or permanent modification required. Every unit is designed and built in the USA.
