The FactionFab Titanium Front Brake Shim Set is designed for compatible 2018–2021 Subaru STI and 2024+ Subaru WRX TS and TR brake configurations. These shims help manage heat transfer from the brake pads to the caliper pistons, making them a useful addition for autocross, track days, and other demanding driving conditions.
Repeated hard braking generates substantial heat that can transfer into the calipers and brake fluid, potentially contributing to brake fade and reduced braking consistency. By placing a thermal barrier between the back of the brake pad and the caliper piston, these shims help slow heat transfer into the caliper and fluid.
Manufactured from 6AL-4V Grade 5 titanium, each shim measures 1.0mm thick. Titanium's relatively low thermal conductivity compared with steel makes it well suited for this application, helping manage caliper temperatures during repeated braking without replacing the complete braking system.
Each kit includes four shims designed for compatible FMSI D1365 brake pads. This provides a straightforward way to support brake thermal management during extended track sessions and may help preserve brake pad service life under demanding conditions.
