Description
The AMS Performance High Mount Intercooler is designed for 2017+ Ford F-150 and Raptor models equipped with the 2.7L or 3.5L EcoBoost engine. The factory intercooler is positioned low in the front bumper, taking up valuable space needed for off-road bumpers, winches, and other front-end modifications. The AMS high mount design relocates the intercooler behind the upper grille while providing a substantially larger and more capable charge-air cooling solution.
Featuring a bar-and-plate core with custom AMS Performance fin and tube geometry, this intercooler provides 113% more core volume than the OEM unit. The increased core volume is designed to improve heat rejection and maintain more consistent intake air temperatures during demanding street, towing, off-road, and performance applications.
CAD-designed cast aluminum end tanks feature 3-inch inlet and outlet ports for improved airflow and provide an ideal starting point for custom intercooler piping. The cast outlet tube also incorporates an integrated blow-off valve mount that supports either the factory bypass valve or a Turbosmart VeePort.
The intercooler is supported by a massive gusseted 1-inch 304 stainless steel lower support bar, along with a 304 stainless steel upper support bracket that securely locates the core. This robust mounting system is designed to withstand the demands of off-road use while maintaining proper intercooler positioning.
A drain plug at the low point of the intercooler allows for convenient servicing, while the system retains factory intercooler piping fitment for easier installation. The high-mount configuration also opens up the lower bumper area, making it an excellent option for builds using a winch or frame-cut aftermarket off-road bumper.
The AMS Performance High Mount Intercooler is available in four configurations: silver uncoated with AMS logo, silver uncoated without AMS logo, black powder coat with AMS logo, and black powder coat without AMS logo.
