The Thermal R&D 2.5" Catback Exhaust System for the Ford Explorer ST is engineered to provide a deeper, throatier exhaust note without sacrificing ride comfort or drivability. Designed to mount directly to the factory catalytic converters, this system improves exhaust flow while preserving OEM emissions functionality.
Constructed from 2.5-inch mandrel-bent T304 stainless steel, the exhaust features mill-finished tubing and center muffler paired with brushed rear Helmholtz chambers for durability and long-term corrosion resistance. Thermal R&D’s True Helmholtz Technology eliminates interior drone while allowing a strong, sporty exhaust tone under acceleration and a calm, quiet sound during highway cruising.
Installation is completely bolt-on using OEM hangers, and the dual 4-inch angle-cut black coated tips fit perfectly into the factory rear valance with no cutting or welding required.
