Description

The Diode Dynamics SS3 SAE Type X Fog Light Kit is engineered to provide maximum performance while maintaining a clean OEM-style appearance. Designed as a direct replacement for compatible factory fog light housings, this kit includes custom Type X mounting brackets and vehicle-specific wiring adapters for a simple bolt-on installation — no cutting, splicing, or modifications required.

At the core of the SS3 system is advanced Total Internal Reflection (TIR) optic technology. Unlike traditional reflector-based fog lamps that lose usable light to glare and internal reflection, the SS3 optic captures and precisely directs nearly all emitted light where it’s needed. The result is improved efficiency, higher usable intensity, and reduced scatter.

The SAE Fog beam pattern utilizes Diode Dynamics’ FineLine optic design to produce a wide 80° horizontal spread with controlled vertical cutoff for optimal road illumination. When installed and aimed correctly, this kit meets SAE J583 Foglamp standards, making it compliant for legal on-road use.

Available in Cool White (6000K) for crisp, modern output.

Each pod is built with a powder-coated aluminum housing, polycarbonate lens, Deutsch DT connectors, and an IP69K waterproof rating. Designed and assembled in the USA, this kit is backed by Diode Dynamics’ limited lifetime warranty for long-term reliability.
