Designed specifically for the rear-wheel-drive 2.3L EcoBoost Mustang, this high-performance turbocharger delivers the increased airflow and power potential of a significantly larger turbo while maintaining a factory-style, stock-location installation.
The factory 2.3L EcoBoost turbo uses a unique reverse-rotation configuration that makes conventional turbo upgrades more difficult. Precision Turbonetics engineered the Stage 2 Next GEN specifically for this platform, allowing it to bolt directly to the OEM exhaust manifold and remain in the factory turbo location.
At the center of the Stage 2 Next GEN is a high-efficiency Next GEN CEA compressor wheel designed to provide increased horsepower, improved response, and reduced turbo lag. The result is an excellent combination of quick spool and substantial top-end power, making this turbo well suited for both street and performance applications.
Rated for up to 610 HP, the Stage 2 Next GEN provides a significant increase in power potential over the factory turbo. Actual output will depend on the engine configuration, fuel system, fuel quality, supporting modifications, boost pressure, intercooling, exhaust flow, and ECU calibration.
The divided twin-scroll configuration helps maintain early spool and strong low-RPM response while the larger, high-efficiency compressor allows the turbo to continue flowing effectively as engine speed increases. A ported shroud compressor housing further improves the usable compressor map, helping provide responsive operation while supporting increased top-end performance.
The turbocharger utilizes a dual ceramic ball-bearing center section for improved throttle response, reduced friction, and excellent durability under high-performance operating conditions. The turbine housing is constructed from investment-cast HK30 stainless steel, a material designed to withstand the high temperatures generated by demanding turbocharged applications.
Installation is designed to be straightforward. The Stage 2 Next GEN is a direct drop-in replacement that requires no adapters, fabrication, or vehicle modifications. New gaskets and silicone couplers are included, along with a 3-inch coupler designed to work with popular factory and aftermarket intake systems.
