While the stock intercooler quickly becomes heat soaked, leading to reduced power output, this COBB upgrade offers a 70% increase in core volume and 10% more cooling surface area over OEM, ensuring consistent performance even under heavy load.

Designed in-house, this intercooler features cast aluminum end tanks TIG-welded to a high-efficiency core for strength and durability. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis was used to sculpt the end tanks, creating smooth airflow paths that distribute charge air evenly with no turbulence. A chamfered outlet port ensures a seamless transition into the throttle body tube, further reducing restrictions.

The COBB FMIC installs cleanly in the factory location with no cutting, trimming, or permanent modifications required. For enthusiasts planning additional upgrades such as water or methanol injection, provisions have been integrated into the casting with flat surfaces designed to be tapped for nozzles or used as drain ports.
