These shims help manage heat transfer from the brake pads to the caliper pistons, making them a useful upgrade for drivers who participate in autocross, track days, or other demanding driving events.

Repeated hard braking generates significant heat that can transfer into the calipers and brake fluid. Excessive temperatures can contribute to brake fade and reduced braking consistency. By placing a thermal barrier between the brake pad backing plate and caliper piston, FactionFab titanium shims help slow this heat transfer and support more consistent braking during extended sessions.

Manufactured from 6AL-4V Grade 5 titanium, each shim measures 1.0mm thick. Titanium's relatively low thermal conductivity compared with steel makes it well suited for this application, while the thin construction provides a practical way to improve brake thermal management without replacing the entire braking system.

Each kit includes four shims and is designed for compatible brake pad configurations. The shims can help manage caliper temperatures during repeated hard stops and may support longer brake pad service life under demanding conditions. Verify pad shape and caliper compatibility before ordering, and consult current SCCA or NASA regulations if the vehicle will be used in competition.

https://www.pandamotorworks.com/products/factionfab-titanium-rear-brake-shim-set-2018-21-subaru-sti-2024-wrx-ts-tr
