All Focus RS transmissions are completely disassembled. Every gear and receiving gear synchro is inspected and meticulously deburred to eliminate any casting flaws, ensuring the smoothest engagement possible. Then, all synchros are replaced with upgraded carbon synchros, all bearings are replaced with upgraded caged bearings, and gear sets are reassembled. All operation and engagements are checked before installation into a freshly cleaned, hot tanked transmission case with your choice of limited slip differential.
Limited Slip Differential details:
One of the best known, race proven, differentials on the market. This is the option Ford Performance has chosen to be “their” differential. Using Quaife’s description: “Once installed, drivers will notice an immediate difference, as the Quaife (ATB) limited slip differential automatically biases the torque across the axle to the wheel with the most grip. Unwanted wheelspin and slip are greatly reduced, resulting in less understeer on front wheel drive” vehicles.
This is the best option on the market for our platform in my opinion. This is the ONLY differential that if you lift a tire or completely loose traction with one side that it will still transfer power to the gripping tire.
